I had a short sabbatical available to me in 2013, and decided to fill the time with a motorcycle trip around Europe to see the sights and visit old friends. I decided to buy a motorcycle rather than rent, due to cost considerations. Ninja 250s were hard to find, and in any case would need more extensive reworking than I wanted to attempt. I'd always wanted to ride an SV650, and this was the perfect excuse. I found this bike and bought it with the help of Motofeirme, a service in Ireland for helping non-European motorcyclists buy bikes in Europe.
