DocuTech is a small company that operates out of Den Ris on Ortlimar IV. Their main legitimate calling in business is to produce forgery-proof documents for business and government, such as ID cards, vehicle documents, etc. Since almost all information in Starwars is electronic, this is largely a data processing task.
DocuTech's real business, however, comes from forging documents. Their forte is forging identification and travel documents for the criminal underground. They can typically produce a document so apparently legitimate that it takes a huge analytical computer several hours of scrutiy to detect the differences. They are very good.
Their illicit services don't come cheaply. Typical cost for forging a low-security ID is between 300 and 800 credits, with the price going up logarithmically with security. Turnaround time can range from several hours to weeks, depending upon how much you want to spend, and how busy they are to start with.
DocuTech is rumored to be a part of the Lopar Syndicate, but no one knows for sure. There are also rumors that they work for law-enforcement on an extended mission to document the criminal underground in the Ortlimar system, but few people really believe the police have that much patience.
